Inspired by Native American author Gerald Vizenor's novel, Dead Voices, Stone's War is a contemporary trickster myth produced by Dancing in the Streets and Dana Salisbury in association with XO:projects inc. In this multidisciplinary site-specific production, conceived and directed by Bessie-Award-winning artist Dana Salisbury, an old woman, Bagese, fighting to survive in the city, lives each day as a different animal, bird or insect. Stone's War focuses on the day she joins the flea community and its battle against the Exterminator who threatens it with annihilation. Travelling from rooftop to alley, cellar, loft and courtyard the audience is brought into the story's eight scenes - each created and performed by a different artist or company - Ariane Anthony; Christopher Caines Dancers and Singers; Grisha Coleman, Anitra Brooks, and Molly Rabinowitz; DD Dorvillier; Tony Giovannetti, Dafna Naphtali, and Hans Tammen; Morgon Kara; Dana Salisbury; and Deke Weaver.
